Guide

What is a twibbon?

A twibbon is a frame, badge or overlay you put around a profile photo to show support for a cause, a team or an event. The name blends “twitter” and “ribbon”: the format began as a way to mark a campaign inside a social profile picture, and it stuck because it is the smallest possible act of participation.

Why people use them

A shared frame turns separate profile photos into one visible collective. Nobody has to write a post or explain the cause — the image does it, and it keeps doing it for as long as it stays up.

What makes a good frame

The photo window is the whole design decision. Leave it generous, centred, and free of detail that would be hidden behind a face. Keep the mark in a corner, and make sure the frame still reads at 100 pixels wide — that is how most people will see it.

A PNG with real transparency is the format that matters. Anything exported with a white background will cover the supporter's photo instead of framing it.

Common questions

›What is a twibbon?

A twibbon is a frame or badge that goes around a profile photo to show support for a cause or an event. The word blends 'twitter' and 'ribbon': the format started as a way to mark a campaign on social media.

›Do I need an account to use a frame?

No. You can open a campaign, add your photo and download the result without signing up. An account is only needed to save favourites, comment, or post to a campaign gallery.

›Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. The editor runs entirely in your browser — the photo never leaves your device unless you explicitly post it to a campaign gallery.

›Does the download have a watermark?

Never. TwibbonX is free and every export is clean, at the campaign's full output resolution.

›Can I keep a campaign private?

Yes. Public campaigns appear in Explore, unlisted ones open only through their link, and private ones require an access code.

›Can I change my campaign link after publishing?

The link is editable while the campaign is a draft. Once it is public it is locked, because it is already in chats, QR codes and bios.
